Jay Ritch


Jay earned BAs in Persian Studies, German Studies, and Linguistics from UMD and he spent his Capstone Year in College Park as part of the 2015-2016 Cohort. During his undergraduate career, Jay worked at CASL and in the Linguistics Department as a research assistant. He also participated in the CLS program in Tajikistan during the Summer of 2013. During his Capstone year, Jay interned at Tavaana: E-Learning Institute for Iranian Civil Society. After graduation, Jay worked as a Language Assistant in the UMD Summer Language Institute and as a Research Assistant at the Center for Advanced Study of Language. He then returned to the Persian Flagship Program to work at as the Program Coordinator, a position he has held since September 2016.

Living Arrangement: Persian House (domestic immersion)

Internship: Tavaana ( - Worked on translations from Persian to English and conducted research in Persian.
