Focus on Afghanistan: Turquoise Mountains & Lapis Field Trip
This field trip will focus on arts and culture in Afghanistan and will be lead by documentary director and translator Baktash Ahadi. The field trip will start with a tour of the Turquoise Mountains exhibit at the Freer Sackler Gallery in Washington, DC, followed by a dinner discussion at Lapis Bistro (homestyle Afghan food! Includes vegan dishes!) on modern life in Afghanistan, arts and culture, Dari dialect, and anything else you want to discuss with him. We will provide metro cards for all travel, and dinner as well.
