Summer Institute Scholarships
Early Bird Deadline: Applications received before March 1, 2019 will receive $200 off tuition and are eligible for scholarships.
Priority Deadline: Applications received before March 22, 2019 will be eligible for scholarships.
Competitive scholarships are available for Summer Institute attendees ranging from $500 - $1,500. UMD Summer Institute Scholarships require a separate application; our admissions process is need-blind.
You will receive the scholarship application along with your acceptance notice.

Foreign Language and Area Studies Program (FLAS) Fellowships:
Our contact hours meet FLAS requirements, and fellowship holders can apply this funding towards the UMD Summer Language Institute. The University of Maryland does not receive or distribute FLAS funding. Applicants must apply for this funding through their home institution, if the institution has FLAS funding.

UMD Tuition Remission
If you are a UM System Employee (or employee's dependent or spouse) and you plan to use Tuition Remission benefits, please visit the Tuition Remission website. Please be sure to note that the policy limits the number of credits allowable for summer tuition remission to 8 credits.
